BREAST-FEEDING MOTHER
This piece was commissioned as a birthday gift from siblings to their sister.
My brief here was simple - they wanted a sculpture that would show the bond between a mother and her children and to have her breast-feeding her baby. I created this sculpture showing a mother in the most intimate of times with her children - breast-feeding her baby while also cuddling her toddler.
The three figures are sitting on a carved hand enclosing them.
If standing, the mother would have been about 500mm.
